In the title compound, C(14)H(12)Br(2)Se(2), the Se-Se bond length [2.3034â (9)â Ã ] is similar to those in diphenyl diselenide [2.3066â (7) and 2.3073â (10)â Ã ] and shorter than that in 1,8-diselenona-phthalene [2.0879â (8)Ã ]. The mol-ecule adopts a classical gauche conformation.
