Pyridin-1-ium carb-oxy-formate-2-chloro-acetic acid (1/1).

The asymmetric unit of the title salt co-crystal, C(5)H(6)N(+)·C(2)HO(4) (-)·C(2)H(3)ClO(2), comprises a pyridinium cation, a carb-oxy-formate anion and a 2-chloro-acetic acid mol-ecule. In the crystal, the components are connected by hydrogen bonds within a one-dimensional chain in the a-axis direction which incorporates rather short, charge-assisted O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds; the pyridinium-NH group forms bifurcated N-H⋯(O,O) hydrogen bonds of different strength.
