Abstract
Under a 2-year project that began last July, the Department of Pediatrics at Dalhousie now receives an annual sum totalling almost $5 million to pay for clinical activities provided by staff members. The money is used to pay salaries to all but one of its 38 members, who now forgo fee-for-service payments. However, the move hasn't pleased members of some other specialties, who say it has taken money out of their pockets.
