Abstract

Macrobrachium rosenbergii, the Giant Freshwater Prawn (GFP), is one of the most commonly cultivated prawn species in Asia. The degradation of germplasm and the rise of viral infections like Infectious Precocity Virus (IPV) are two main issues that M. rosenbergii aquaculture has had to deal with recently. Therefore, a transcriptome sequencing of the assembled reads of M. rosenbergii from stage specific IPV infected early matured ovaries has been represented here. Approximately 64.63 million reads from Illumina Novaseq 6000 were generated from three different ovarian stages tissue assembled in Trinity assembler. The M. rosenbergii ovary yielded over 63.21 million clean paired end reads. Assembly generated a total of 108,974 transcripts and 51836 unigenes. Out of the total 51836 unigenes 32.31% (16,753) genes are curated with the help of the NCBI NR database. BUSCO confirmed 97.6% completeness to the high-quality assembly. This present study is an initiative to establish a transcriptome repository for stage specific IPV-infected M. rosenbergii from Taiwan. The information produced will be used as a foundation for transcriptome-based genetic research, which will provide fresh perspectives on the species' precocious puberty and diverse length distribution of this species.
