Abstract
A compact, self-contained, noninvasive automated system for taking and recording systolic, diastolic and mean arterial blood pressure and heart rate has been used for monitoring one hundred and fifty anesthetized patients. As the surgery progressed, these vital signs were displayed in real time as a graph on a color CRT and as a printed paper graph that became part of the patient's hospital record. This computer generated record has been well accepted by the hospital professional and clerical staff.
