The tert-butyl bound carboxyl-ate group forms a dihedral angle of 17.54†(8)° with the indole ring system. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into centrosymmetric R(2) (2)(10) dimers by paired C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
