The mol-ecule of the title compound, C(10)H(12)N(2)O(4), adopts a trans configuration with respect to the C=N double bond. The dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the hydrazinecarboxyl-ate mean plane is 36.54†(6)°. The mol-ecules are linked into a two-dimensional network by inter-molecular O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, and by aromatic π-π stacking inter-actions [ring-centroid separation 3.7689†(9)†à ].
