In the title compound [systematic name: 5-methyl-1,3-bis-(2-oxoprop-yl)pyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione], C(11)H(14)N(2)O(4), the two 2-oxopropyl groups are nearly perpendicular to the planar thymine unit. One methyl group of oxopropyl substituent is disordered. In the crystal, C-Hâ¯O inter-actions help to connect the mol-ecules into (001) layers.
