Abstract

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play critical roles in regulating the progression, metastasis, drug resistance, and HPV infection in cervical cancer. This bibliometric study aims to analyze research trends, identify major contributors, and explore emerging topics to guide future research directions and therapeutic advancements. METHODS: We systematically retrieved data from the Web of Science and PubMed databases (2010–2024). Bibliometric visualization was conducted using VOSviewer and CiteSpace software, and a total of 4034 publications were analyzed. RESULTS: Research activity peaked before 2020 but showed a decline after 2021. China is the leading contributor to this field, with Tang Hehua being the most prolific author. PLOS ONE is the most active journal, and Tianjin Medical University is the most productive institution. Key terms frequently mentioned include "cervical cancer," "expression," and "invasion." Current trends emphasize clinical translation, and non-coding RNA networks are integrating nanotechnology and artificial intelligence into precision medicine applications. CONCLUSION: This study provides a comprehensive overview of miRNA research in cervical cancer, highlighting key participants and emerging trends. Continued exploration of the mechanisms and clinical applications of miRNAs is essential for advancing treatment strategies and improving patient outcomes.
