This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of non‐vitamin‐K‐antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in patients without an indication for anticoagulation (i.e. atrial fibrillation or venous thromboembolism). A network meta‐analysis will be conducted to assess the comparative effectiveness of multiple interventions and to rank the competing treatments.
