Abstract
We, the Editors and Publisher of the journal The Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine, have retracted the following article:Liu, X., Xu, Y., Wang, Y., Peng, X., Jian, J., Wang, X., & Wang, T. (2024). Administration of methylprednisolone do not affect the spinal scar component of spinal cord injury. The Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine, 1-10. https://doi.org/10.1080/10790268.2024.2352929Following publication, in November 2024, the authors notified the journal that they had identified areas in the article which required improvement, and requested retraction.Upon investigation by the journal, significant concerns were identified regarding the animal model and the integrity of Figure(s) 2 and 4.When approached for an explanation following their request to retract the article, the authors did not respond.As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, we are therefore retracting the article. The corresponding author listed in this publication has been informed.We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and the COPE guidelines.The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as 'Retracted'.
