Abstract
In this case, echocardiography and cardiac computed tomography accurately diagnosed a ruptured left ventricular aneurysm. A 75-year-old male presented with acute chest pain 3 weeks after inferior wall myocardial infarction. Imaging revealed a ruptured aneurysm along the inferior left ventricular wall and an associated large-volume pericardial hematoma causing tamponade. Emergent aneurysmectomy and left ventricular wall patching were successfully performed, allowing discharge on hospital day 24.
