Abstract
Foreign bodies in the heart are a rare condition and are caused by many unexpected circumstances. These objects reach the heart in different ways and lead to unpredictable complications, especially those with sharp tips. The main diagnostic modalities are radiograph, computed tomography, and echocardiography. The first is necessary, and the last 2 can provide more accurate details. The purpose of this report is to review a case of foreign body migration in the heart. A foreign body in the patient migrated from the left elbow to the heart. Ultimately, a black metallic strip-like cardiac foreign body was found among the papillary muscles of the right ventricle and was successfully removed during the emergency of cardiac foreign body removal surgery. This highlights the importance that patients with suspected foreign body injuries should have comprehensive imaging examination and timely intervention.
