Abstract
Significant progress has been made in understanding the brain mechanisms responsible for cognition and the mechanisms through which risk factors contribute to cognitive trajectories in aging. It has become clear over the past few decades, however, that we must individualize interventions for achieving optimal brain health by taking what we have called a “Precision Aging” approach for identifying the best solutions for each person. In other words, each of us has a unique set of characteristics - biological, psychological and social - that require careful consideration in order to achieve the best brain and cognitive health outcomes in aging adults.
