Abstract
Nurse educators are faced with a significant challenge as health care providers move into the arena of computer technology. Faculty realize their own dilemma in needing to become computer literate while fulfilling all other roles of the academician; i.e., teacher, researcher, provider of public service and creator of scholarly activity. This paper describes the planning and the initial computer implementation in one school of nursing. It is anticipated that the experiences related will be of assistance to faculty and administration of other nursing programs as they struggle with this challenge.
