Abstract
Linear extraction-based economic models have critically impacted ecosystems and weakened socio-economic structures in biodiversity-rich regions, particularly the Amazon. To address this, we present Jamamina, an innovative bioinspired nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) tailored for circular cosmetic applications. This system integrates sustainably sourced Amazonian tucumã butter and jambu oil with a Natural Deep Eutectic Solvent (NaDES) phase composed of malic acid and betaine, embodying a regenerative and scalable green nanotechnology platform. Jamamina was characterized by DLS technique, demonstrating size of 221.03 ± 32.72 (nm), polidispersity index (PDI) of 0.261 ± 0.080 and zeta potential of - 0.062 ± 0.711 (mV). The NLC significantly improves the encapsulation efficiency (> 80%) and stability (> 120 days) of curcumin-a multifunctional but poorly soluble polyphenol-by promoting its amorphization and enhancing its aqueous bioavailability. Physicochemical characterization confirmed robust colloidal integrity, Newtonian rheological behavior, and thermal resilience, ensuring predictable performance in diverse application scenarios. Beyond formulation performance, Jamamina demonstrates a biofunctional profile capable of promoting fibroblast adhesion and proliferation, while modulating inflammatory responses by downregulating IL-8 levels and maintaining immunological equilibrium, without activating pro-inflammatory markers such as IL-4. These findings highlight Jamamina's dual role as both nanocarrier and immunoprotective modulator, supporting its application in sensitive-skin formulations and barrier-repair dermocosmetics. More than a technological advancement, Jamamina exemplifies a practical strategy to foster inclusive and sustainable cosmetic bioindustries, aligned with the principles of circular bioeconomy and socio-biodiversity valorization. By leveraging non-timber seed resources harvested by agro-extractive communities, this platform reaffirms that forests deliver greater economic and ecological value when preserved.
