Abstract

Lupus is a systemic disease characterized by the formation of immune complexes and antibodies. Common manifestations of lupus include rashes, ulcers, and neurologic disease. Lupus has cardiac involvement in greater than 50% of cases. It can present as pericarditis, myocarditis, and valvular disease. Although lupus has known associated cardiac manifestations, it is not classically associated with quadricuspid aortic valve. Herein, we present a rare case of quadricuspid aortic valve in a patient with lupus and triple valve disease requiring surgical intervention.
