Abstract
Spontaneous epidural hematoma is a rare and dangerous complication of sickle cell anemia which typically requires surgical management. We present a rare case of a patient with sickle cell anemia and intracranial spontaneous epidural hematoma which resolved without any surgical intervention. We hypothesize the hemorrhage was due to skull bone infarction from sickle cell anemia. Clinicians and radiologists should be aware of rare non-surgical resolution of epidural hemorrhage in patients with sickle cell anemia.
