Abstract

BACKGROUND: The Saudi Vision 2030 aims to implement healthcare transformation in order to effectively address advancements in technology and fulfil the needs of patients and the entire community. It encompasses the strategic advancement and development of the healthcare sector for the overall progress and prosperity of the kingdom. The adoption of an electronic health system in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030 can enhance the quality and availability of healthcare services. Therefore, it is crucial to comprehend the awareness and attitude of PHPs towards the transformation of health care in order to support the process. The aim of this study is to assess knowledge and attitude regarding healthcare transformation of primary healthcare physicians (PHPs) in Health Cluster 2 (C2) in Riyadh City, Saudi Arabia. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 185 PHP who fulfill the selection criteria using a self-administrated validated questionnaire. The collected data were coded and analyzed using SPSS version 25. RESULTS: The majority were aged less than 35 years 148 (80%), and more than one-half were males (58.4%). The overall level of awareness was high among only 37.3% of physicians, whereas 62.7% had a low awareness level. There were two factors that only had significant correlations with awareness levels and they were age (P = 0.006) and type of service (P = 0.0001). CONCLUSION: Primary physicians had a low level of awareness regarding health transformation demonstrating that primary physicians are required to increase their awareness as they have an integral role in health transformation.
