Abstract
We present a genome assembly from an individual female specimen of Lymantria dispar (Gypsy Moth; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Erebidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 966.90 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.94%) is scaffolded into 32 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the W and Z sex chromosomes. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 15.68 kilobases in length. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 16,242 protein-coding genes.
