Abstract
Medial meniscus posterior root tears result in the loss of the meniscus's biomechanical function to convert axial loads into hoop stresses, with consequences comparable with total meniscectomy. Surgical repair remains the primary treatment strategy. However, because of the poor vascular supply of the posterior root, conventional techniques-including transtibial pull-out repair and anchor suture fixation-often yield suboptimal clinical outcomes. The combined biological augmentation technique (platelet-rich plasma + fibrin clot) can better promote healing and improve the prognosis to some extent. Therefore, our Technical Note proposes reversed suture anchor combined with biological augmentation technique for the repair of medial meniscus posterior root tears. On the basis of ensuring superior biomechanical effects, precisely placing the platelet-rich fibrin clot in the posterior root attachment area can effectively promote the healing of the torn site and improve the clinical efficacy.
