Abstract
Revision of medial meniscus posterior root repairs (MMPRRs) requires heightened attention to preoperative planning for surgical intervention. Left untreated or with prolonged conservative management, medial meniscal root tears, especially in combination with varus malalignment, lead to accelerated progression of osteoarthritis. For medial-compartment degenerative changes and existing posterior root tears, medial opening-wedge high tibial osteotomy and MMPRR have shown improved outcomes. In the revision setting with existing osteochondral changes, a concomitant single-stage procedure may be indicated. In this article, we describe combined medial opening-wedge high tibial osteotomy and revision MMPRR using a transtibial double-tunnel suture pullout technique.
