Abstract
First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Disease Models & Mechanisms, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Ting Deng is first author on ‘ Loss of Drosophila ribosomal protein S6 kinase II causes mitochondrial dysfunction and cell death’, published in DMM. Ting conducted the research described in this article while a PhD student in Miguel Martins's lab at University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK. She is now a PhD student in the lab of Heike Laman at University of Cambridge, investigating how RSK kinases regulate mitochondrial health and their role in neurodegenerative diseases.
