•We agree that the irradiation treatment of the scalp is technically challenging and that our study has several limitations.•First, we fully acknowledge the limited generalizability of a single-case observation.•Second, the treatment goal in this case was to irradiate the metastases with palliative intent.•To the best of our knowledge this case represents the first clinical implementation of 3D-printed bolus technology in radiotherapy in Romania.
