Abstract

Cerebral proliferative angiopathy is a rare vascular disease of the brain that has long been classified as a giant and diffuse form of arteriovenous malformations, with only a few cases reported in the literature. The typical clinical presentation includes seizures, headaches, and progressive neurological deficits. Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are the initial diagnostic radiological modalities, while angiography remains the gold standard. Invasive treatment is rarely indicated to preserve normal brain tissue. Here, we report a case of a left frontal ischemic stroke complicating a diffuse cerebral proliferative angiopathy in a 65-year-old man with no significant medical history, whom we managed conservatively with antiepileptic medication. This case emphasizes the importance of early detection through imaging to allow for appropriate management and prevent complications.
