Abstract
This research investigates the factors that impact job satisfaction, job performance, and well-being among academics, aiming to better understand their contribution. The methodology consists of using partial least-squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) on the data gathered from applying a survey on the academics in the main universities in Romania. The proposed model includes five variables: job stressors, the manager's support, job performance, job satisfaction, and well-being. The findings show a strong negative relationship between job stressors and academics' satisfaction and a positive one between satisfaction and both job performance and well-being. Another relevant result refers to the important impact of the manager on the academics' well-being and job satisfaction. The findings are helpful for managers in developing adequate educational strategies in universities to raise the well-being and satisfaction of academics who teach generations of students.
