Abstract
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to develop and validate the Severity of the Complaints Related to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Scale. METHODS: This methodological study employed exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. Internal consistency was assessed through item-total correlations and the test-retest method. RESULTS: Exploratory factor analysis revealed a four-factor structure explaining 57.416% of the variance. Confirmatory factor analysis results confirmed a good model fit (χ2/df=3.094, RMSEA=0.065, CFI=0.913, GFI=0.910). The overall Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.897. In the test-retest reliability analyses, significant correlations were found between all items and factor scores across the two administrations (p<0.001). CONCLUSION: The scale is a valid and reliable measure for assessing the severity of complaints related to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Scale.
