Abstract
First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Disease Models & Mechanisms, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Maize Cao is first author on ‘ Transcriptional targets of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis/frontotemporal dementia protein TDP-43 – meta-analysis and interactive graphical database’, published in DMM. Maize is a PhD student in the lab of Dr Emma Scotter at University of Auckland, New Zealand, Auckland, investigating downstream events of RNA-binding proteins involved in neurodegenerative diseases.
