Abstract
Comprehensive analysis of the stria vascularis (SV), an essential structure for hearing function, would greatly benefit from an in vitro experimental platform. Here, we present a protocol for dissection and isolation of the neonatal and adult mouse SV (focusing on post-natal day [P]0-35) from base to apex. We then detail procedures for explanting the SV on Matrigel-coated well dishes, followed by washing and fixing procedures. For complete details on the use and execution of the protocol, please refer to Thulasiram et al.(1).
