Conclusion

Our findings may be evidence for the consideration that DS reflects a coherent entity within schizophrenia. Increased levels of IL-17 from pro-inflammatory cytokines may be related with DS.

Results

Patients in the DS group had higher IL-17 levels than the non-DS group did. TGF-β values for both patient groups were significantly higher than those of the controls. PON1 and TAOC values for both patient groups were significantly lower than those of the controls.
