Abstract
This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: The objective of this review is to compare the effects on survival and quality of life of shorter with longer durations of chemotherapy in women with metastatic breast cancer. This will include: a) shorter vs longer duration of the same drug regimen (eg 6 cycles vs 12 cycles of the same drug regimen) b) same duration of chemotherapy in both arms followed by extra cycles of different drugs in the comparison arm (eg 6 cycles of A v 6 cycles of A followed by 6 cycles of B)
