Abstract
The redetermined structure of a new polymorph of 6,6'-{(1E,1E')-[(1,2-di-phenyl-ethane-1,2-di-yl)bis-(aza-neylyl-idene)]bis-(methane-ylyl-idene)}bis-(2-chloro-phenol), C(28)H(22)Cl(2)N(2)O(2) was reported. The title compound was synthesized under microwave irradiation at 90 K, within 10 min. The asymmetric unit comprises a potentially tetra-dentate Schiff base ligand that crystallizes in the triclinic system with space group P1. The structure displays intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonding, forming an S(6) ring. Comparisons are made with the monoclinic polymorph [Shen et al. (2017). RSC Adv. 7, 40640-40649].
