Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Oral cavity cancers are the most common head and neck malignancies. Raising awareness of their risks and symptoms can aid in prevention and early detection. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study involved 100 randomly selected patients who were given a self-administered questionnaire with 16 questions related to awareness, signs, symptoms, and risk factors of tobacco use. RESULTS: The overall study showed that females were more aware of oral cancer. CONCLUSION: The study found gender differences in knowledge and awareness of oral cancer, with females more aware.
