Abstract

BACKGROUND: Endovascular repair of thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms (TAAAs) is constrained by 2 critical limitations: delays associated with custom-made devices and the inherent risk of endoleaks. CASE SUMMARY: A patient with type III TAAA. We used a novel bifurcated stent graft system (BSGS; LifeTech Scientific) to reconstruct 4 visceral arteries, thereby successfully isolating the TAAA. DISCUSSION: The BSGS eliminates delays related to custom device fabrication and demonstrates promising safety and efficacy in the endovascular treatment of complex TAAAs. TAKE-HOME MESSAGES: TAAAs pose significant challenges for endovascular treatment due to involvement of all visceral arteries. This case demonstrated the endovascular treatment of TAAAs using a novel off-the-shelf device, with a method akin to "building with blocks."
