A novel assistant-free technique for ptosis surgery: Combining small fish hook retractors and frilled drapes

This report introduces a novel technique combining small fish hook retractors and frilled disposable drapes for levator aponeurosis advancement in aponeurotic ptosis. This approach enables stable retraction of the surgical field, allowing surgeons to perform safe and efficient procedures independently. The most notable feature of this technique is that this combination of retractors and drapes has not been previously reported in the field of plastic surgery. Between April 2021 and December 2024, the method was applied to 609 eyelids with favorable results.
