Abstract
In the hybride title salt, (C(2)H(7)BrN)(2)[SnBr(6)], the charge of the anionic [SnBr(6)](2-) moiety is balanced by two (H(3)N(CH(2))(2)Br)(+) cations. The tin(IV) atom is located on a mirror plane and has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment. The inorganic octa-hedra are discrete, thus leading to a 0D topology within the crystal structure. The two crystallographically unique organic cations have different conformations: while one has a gauche conformation, the other has an anti conformation, both without special symmetry but with positional disorder over the crystallographic mirror plane. Contacts between organic and inorganic parts in the crystal structure are ensured by N-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds and weak Br⋯Br and C-H⋯Br inter-actions.
