Synthesis and crystal structure of 4-benzyl-4-pentyl-morpholin-4-ium chloride

The reaction of N-pentyl-morpholine with benzyl chloride resulted in the title compound, C(16)H(26)ClNO, which crystallizes in the ortho-rhom-bic space group Pna2(1) with Z = 4. In the crystal, the chloride ions are surrounded by four cations, forming layers.
