Abstract
INTRODUCTION: In-depth knowledge of orthodontic mechanics is a mandatory aspect for all orthodontists, regardless of the technique, material, or appliance used. Following this reasoning, in addition to notorious knowledge, the clinician needs to be creative to deal with the countless possibilities inherent to clinical diversity. OBJECTIVE: The objective of this article is to present 10 clinical situations in which the orthodontist's inventive capacity is a fundamental element in selecting ideal mechanics to solve different clinical challenges. RESULTS: Incorporating creativity enabled efficient resolution of all clinical situations. CONCLUSIONS: Stimulating creativity is essential to prepare professionals capable of innovating responsibly.
