Abstract
A neuroanatomy course is being taught using lectures, video tapes, Hypercard and a videodisc. The rapid adaptation of existing traditional course materials into Hypercard is exciting. This was possible, in part, because the videodisc, “Slice of Life”, already existed and contained 80% of the images needed for the project. The computer application is called “HyperBrain” and, once introduced, can be used by medical students at multiple stages in their neuroscience training. Concurrent projects in neurology, radiology, pathology, and neurosurgery are expanding the program for more advanced levels. The application has a number of useful features: laboratory syllabus with digitized figures, glossary, quizzes, laboratory examinations, clinical case studies and atlases.
