Abstract
The computer Assisted Practice of Cardiology (CAPOC) System is a Department of Defense Tri-Service Medical Information System (TRIMIS) project developed over the past several years to provide on a regionalized basis, computer interpretation of electrocardiograms to smaller military medical facilities which do not have a cardiology service available. The system provides automatic transmission of ECG tracings over telephone lines, quality control of incoming signals, computer interpretation and storage of ECG tracings and evaluations at a central site within each region, and printed output reports at the originating facility.
