Abstract
This work reports gold-catalyzed novel 1,2-C,N-difunctionalizations of 2-alkenyl-1-arylalkynes with nitrones, along with the C═C double bond cleavage of substrates. Our mechanistic analysis suggests that gold directs an initial attack of N-hydroxyaniline on such enynes, followed by a cascade reaction with one nitrone molecule before the C═C double bond cleavage.
