Abstract
The title compound, [Fe(2)(C(5)H(5))(2)(C(20)H(14)O(2))], is the product of a new synthetic route towards tetra-aryl/hetaryl-substituted ethenes that reduces the occurrence of side-products. In the crystal, the mol-ecule is centrosymmetric and the cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp) rings are nearly coplanar and aligned slightly closer to a staggered conformation than to an eclipsed one. The ethene plane is tilted by 32.40 (18)° with respect to that of the substituted Cp ring and by 63.19 (19)° with respect to that of the furan ring. C-H⋯π inter-actions link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional supramolecular framework.
