Abstract

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a benign but locally aggressive tumor originating from the skin's fibroblasts. In its appearance, the tumor can resemble other harmless conditions such as a hypertrophic scar or even acne, with no definitive symptoms. A 32-year-old woman presented with a 2-month history of a lesion over the neck. The histopathology revealed DFSP, and the patient underwent surgical excision with negative margins. However, the lesion recurred after five months, necessitating a revision surgery with adjuvant radiotherapy. We aim to discuss the potential factors contributing to the recurrence. These tumors are best managed in multidisciplinary clinics, and there is a need for long-term surveillance of these patients.
