Abstract
• Regional LS pattern on echocardiography is useful to differentiate LVH cases. • An “apical sparing pattern” may be seen in patients without CA. • A “pseudo apical sparing pattern” may be caused by apical foreshortening. • Regional LS may be falsely elevated in apical segments if the image is foreshortened.
