Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Osteochondral fractures of the patella are rare injuries that can result from trauma or patellar dislocation, often affecting adolescents involved in sports. CASE REPORT: This is the case report of a 15-year-old male presented on May 5, 2023 with a large osteochondral fracture of the patella. The patient was followed up for 2 years post-fixation. DISCUSSION: We describe a case of a 15-year-old male who had sustained a large medial facet patellar osteochondral fracture while playing. The diagnosis was made with the help of an X-ray, MRI, and CT scan. Fracture fixation was done with a innovative technique of extra-articular K-wires and absorbable sutures. CONCLUSION: Early diagnosis and operative fixation can give excellent functional outcomes.
