The mol-ecule of the title compound, C(6)H(6)N(2)O(2)S, lies on a crystallographic mirror plane with the methyl-ene H atoms related by mirror symmetry. In the crystal packing, mol-ecules are linked into layers by inter-molecular O-Hâ¯N and C-Hâ¯O hydrogen bonds.
