The title compound, C(5)H(6)N(2)OS, was synthesized from acetyl chloride and 2-amino-thia-zole in dry acetone. The asymmetric unit contains two mol-ecules. The crystal structure is stabilized by N-Hâ¯N and C-Hâ¯O hydrogen bonds.
