Rare Case of Long Retained Button Foreign Body in Esophagus Removed by Esophagotomy: A Case Report From Muhimbili National Hospital, Tanzania

Challenges in the management of dysphagia from a patient with a long-retained esophageal foreign body, unveiling the diagnostic and treatment challenges. Reported a rare case of an esophageal foreign body from a button presenting with long-standing dysphagia; the button was retrieved by thoracotomy with esophagotomy. This is the rare case of an esophageal foreign body managed by surgery.
