Combined trabeculectomy with non-valved drainage implant under a single shared scleral flap: A novel approach to refractory glaucoma

This case concerns a young monoocular man with advanced glaucoma and twice explanted Ahmed Glaucoma Valve. A combined trabeculectomy with non-valved glaucoma drainage device implantation was performed, using a novel approach underneath a single shared scleral flap, following which the IOP was controlled at 6-month post-op, without any evidence of conjunctival retraction or tube exposure.
