Abstract
We report a rare case of hyperparathyroidism due to parathyroid adenoma causing hypercalcemia, presenting as a generalized prolonged seizure on the seventh postpartum day mimicking eclampsia. Eclampsia developing on the seventh postpartum day in a woman without features of impending eclampsia is rare. Therefore, other differential diagnoses should be considered including primary hyperparathyroidism. Diagnosis is essential as complete cure is possible with surgery.
